Car Enthusiasts on Amelia Island
A group gathering of automotive enthusiasts whose shared passion is the enjoyment of the “car culture”. As an informal group with many interests and varied experiences, the group gathers to meet, greet and enjoy the cars and one another!

About

AUTO LEGENDS AMELIA
FERNANDINA BEACH, FL
The late Tom Cote-Merow and several car enthusiast friends decided to organize a group of car aficionados on Amelia Island to enjoy “Cars and Conversations” that was back in 2008. The group began a public meeting the third Saturday of each month in a local parking lot on Sadler Road. As Tom insisted “the group is considered a gathering not a club”. The main goal was “meet and greet”, enjoy the cars and each other. There are no dues, no rules, and no officers; however, there is a Steering Committee to help keep “our wheels” pointed in the right direction. Fast forward to 2023, the Saturday gatherings includes meeting at local Fernandina Beach businesses, “Drive and Dine” to local food establishments and road tours to Brumos Collection to name a few.
September 2018 Auto Legends Amelia along with the support from Friends of Fort Clinch and the Fort Clinch State Park created the inaugural “Cars and Cannons”; a classic vintage car event held on the Parade Grounds within historic Fort Clinch. Upwards of 70 vintage vehicles 25 years or older are in attendance including Hot Rods,, Bentleys, Rolls Royce, Sports Cars of various makes and of course American Iron.
Future events to include local food trucks, live music and cannon firing!
